When I was in seminary/grad school, almost every night Laurie and I would watch The Wheel of Fortune. I cannot believe Vanna and Pat are still doing the show. They actually look good. The Wheel has been good to them.
Recently our Dyer site acquired its own type of Wheel of Fortune. Actually, our wheel is a template depicting the many different opportunities to serve at our Dyer location. Our serving wheel is vastly different than the game show. Ours does not provide material wins, but kingdom wins. Our does not give vacation getaways but affords blood, sweat, tears, serving and giving that has little reward in this world but in the next one. It warms my heart to know that 37% of people attending Dyer serve in God’s church. However, everyone needs to be serving…some more “within” and many more “outside the walls”. For those of you who are, way to go! To those who are not, why not consider it? Mark 10:43-45, “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant…For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many.”
It’s time to take your turn and serve for the glory of God!
