Heading to Rwanda! Whenever I travel overseas I experience dual emotions of excitement and sadness. The excitement is to travel with great people via Team World Vision and seeing all of the wonderful people/children of Rwanda that Faith Church has impacted. My sadness is because I will miss Laurie, my kids (grandchild) and Faith Church.
This trip will be very different from any I have experienced before. I will be attempting to run a full marathon (at least a half). My training went well until the last three weeks. I have had a few injuries that have surprised me. (Age 50 may be the root cause.) I will run until I stop.
Beyond that, we will be visiting Karaba to see the children, families and Area Development Project (ADP). We will also do a few high intensity genocide related visits and a couple of sightseeing highlights. Whenever I have Wi-Fi, I will try to Facebook status/update/photo you if you are interested.
I love you, Faith Church. You are the reason I’m going and running. I/we covet your prayers and look forward to sharing the stories upon my return, Lord willing.
