How cool is that!!

The picture you see above is of a gathered community of Christians in Decatur, Michigan. The goofy looking guy on the screen is me. In early spring Dave Weemhoff (campus pastor of Faith Church – Cedar Lake and multisite champion) and I met with Clayton Denton (member of Faith Church – Dyer) and an RCA pastor name Mark from Decatur. Clayton has befriended Pastor Mark over the last few years and wanted us to brainstorm/coach him a little concerning his church, First Reformed Church of Decatur. During the course of dialogue an idea was presented to have a “video venue” church service of Faith Church – Dyer during the summer months as an experiment. So far so good! The range of cottage/camper people that attend are between 100-150 people. Occasionally they have live music and sometimes they use the Dyer video for a whole service. All in all, it has been a good thing: unique, exciting and cool. What does the future hold? Only God knows for sure but here are a few dreams and prayers:

  1. Pray that God refreshes 1st Reformed Church.
  2. Pray that maybe every summer there will be this unique video venue worship service for the believers from Illinois/Indiana/Michigan.
  3. Pray that the cottage/camper believers invite their neighboring cottage/camper people to worship.
  4. Pray that God saves some, grows some and that He will receive all the praise and glory.

If you are in the vicinity of Decatur, Michigan this summer, stop by First Reformed church. Their services are 11:00 am EST/10:00 am CST (or as I like to say 11:00 am Tiger time or 10:00 am Cub’s time!). The address is 316 ½ Delaware Street, Decatur, Michigan.
