I Love How God Works!

On Sunday I mentioned how cool God has worked in our ministry to homeless women in Valparaiso.  A year and a half ago we began partnering with The Open Arms women’s shelter which has a different church open their facility for each night of the week to serve those in need.  (Our night is Wednesday.)  As that began our leadership team in Valpo started dreaming about how we could bless these women even more using the resources God has blessed us with.  We recognized that we had room in our building for shower and laundry facilities, services these women rarely have access to.

Here’s where it gets cool.  This fall a mini-church from our Dyer Campus approached me and said they were going to do a project together and they were feeling led to make their project showers and laundry facilities for the homeless women in Valparaiso.  Could they take the lead and do that project at Faith-Valpo? 1/2 second later I told them to go for it!

What a blessing to see God orchestrating those events and increasing the hearts of Faith’s members and attenders to serve.  The picture above with the detergent?  That’s from a child’s birthday party.  Instead of him receiving gifts he asked the party attenders to bring laundry detergent and toiletries so that when we are ready to go the cleaning supplies are there!  (The other pictures are of the progress they’ve made in the future shower room, walls are up!, and laundry facility, new hot water heater is in and walls are painted!)

What a church!  What a God!  Praise Him from whom all blessings flow!

Jason

p.s.  Remember we will be taking a special offering this Sunday to help the group from Dyer defray their costs.

Jason: Bless you for connecting Rachel to her possible mentors. Not missing these “small” items in the congregation are “HUGE”. ,
