It’s been a while since I wrote a blog. To my millions of avid readers, I apologize. I hope you had a blessed and worshipful Easter celebration. I know I did!
It’s also been a while since I’ve communicated about Faith Church and the multi-site movement. This Easter, roughly 5,378 people attended a Faith Church worship service. 1,083 of those people worshiped at one of our sites away from our central Dyer Campus. That’s about 20% of our total attendance, worshiping in communities that are 10-25 miles away from Dyer. I think that’s pretty cool!
With our launch of Faith-Beecher moving along toward a September “Grand Opening”, we will add more space for weekend worship as we seek to “reach the disconnected and grow the connected in Christ”. This is a great reminder that we are working toward our goal of 20/20 (20 sites/venues by 2020), but that it is also an ambitious goal. We have a lot of work, prayer, creativity and risk ahead of us!
One of the greatest assets of multi-site is the driving need to reproduce leaders at all levels, to reproduce people to serve in various ministries, and to reproduce “missionaries” to send out. New leaders and ministry workers are needed at each new site. New leaders and ministry workers are needed to replace the “sent” leaders and ministry workers at the central site. Everybody working together, at all sites and in all ministries is a beautiful picture of the body of Christ as the church grows and seeks to fulfill her mission.
Think of the different communities and regions that might be impacted. Think of the people who have moved from “consumer” Christians to active servants, leaders and missionaries. Think of the need in this broken world to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Join the movement!
After meeting the Nordins and Iperlaans in Hawaii earlier this year, that would be a lovely location to launch a multi-site? Thoughts?
