This week, I have been reading the Gospel of John and have been amazed at what Scripture continues to reveal to me. I am looking forward to really sinking into Luke 2 with my family and sharing how much Jesus means to us. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God (John 1:1) Jesus is the light of the World. Jesus does his father’s will. God wants us to believe in His Son and for us to testify to this and to do what His Son asks us to do.
I believe that Jesus came for me. I believe that Jesus died for me. I believe that Jesus rose again, and conquered the grave and came back to life – victorious Son of God. Jesus, you are my hope, you are the way. You are the light of my path, guiding my way. My strength in the fight, the joy of my soul, my peace of mind – You, Jesus, are my hope.
This Christmas season should be a time of reflection, adoration and praise for the unbelievable gift that we have been given. As you spend time with family and/or friends can you think about a babe in a manger who came humbly into this world and loves us so much that he did his Father’s will to take our sin upon him and to be our Savior.
As for me and my house, we will sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and be thankful for the gift of eternity that his birth signified – Immanuel – God is with us!
