Today’s Chapter: II Kings 6

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”   II Kings 6:16

The odds seemed insurmountable. Here was Elisha surrounded by a large military force who had come to take him out. Many in this situation would have freaked out (it seems Gehazi did!) , but the man of God stood firm knowing if God was for him, nothing could stand against him (Romans 8:31). A major tactic of the Enemy is to get believers to fear. He thinks, “If I can just get them to fear, doubt will overcome them and they will turn everyway but to God.” But the Word tells us we need not fear in this life, not men or armies, legions or arrows; no, not even the evil one himself. For greater is He who is within us than he who is within the world (1 John 4:4). If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, are you standing on the authority He gave you to overcome? Do you really believe greater is He who is with you than anything that is against you?
