Today’s Chapter: I Kings 13

“And he said to him, ‘I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, “Bring him back with you into your house that he may eat bread and drink water.”‘ But he lied to him.”
I Kings 13:18

This old prophet was a good man of God whose demise was the result of trusting another prophet who deceptively told him that God had told him that it was OK to go against what God originally instructed.

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt uncomfortable with what was going on or what was being said but went along with it anyway? There will be people who distort the truth, justify sin and outright lie to us, but in the end, we have choices. We can choose to obey the voice of God or choose to listen to others contradicting words. Lord, help us to stand firm in what we know you have told us in Your Word.
