Today’s Chapter: Acts 16

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25

Paul and Silas were just falsely accused, stripped, beaten, severely flogged and thrown in prison. Yet, they prayed and sang hymns to God. Would that be our attitude? Often we focus on ourselves and demand from God why something is happening to us when we are trying to serve Him. What a testimony as “the other prisoners were listening to them”! And the story continues… God opened the doors of the prison and the jailer, thinking he was in big trouble for letting them escape, was about to kill himself. Paul shouts to him letting him know that they were still there and Paul shares the gospel with him. Because Paul was thrown in that prison, the jailer and his family are in heaven with Paul right now. We don’t always know why we go through things but God is using our struggles for His plans. How is your attitude when you find yourself in the midst of a struggle?
