Today’s Chapter: Matthew 28

“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.'” Matthew 28:5-6

All of the prophecies and predictions of the Old Testament have been fulfilled in Jesus. He himself had told his followers he would rise from the dead yet the angel tells Mary to come and see the empty tomb for herself knowing Mary needed confirmation. God is aware of our doubting nature and He works with us to build our faith. Maybe you beat yourself up for having a lack of faith when you doubt God’s words being applicable to your specific life. God is telling you to come and see for yourself. Go to him with your doubts. And as Gods promises and plans unfold before your eyes, your faith will be built up. Mary saw the empty tomb and ran to tell others. As we see for ourselves God’s work in our lives, we, too, will run and tell others. But she had to go with the angel and see the empty tomb. We have to reflect on our lives and see God’s work and faithfulness so we can tell others. Come, see!
