Today’s Chapter: II Corinthians 11

“And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”

II Corinthians 11:14

I don’t envision Satan as being attractive. I view Satan as ugly, repulsive and totally unappealing. Yet, Paul is teaching the Christians in Corinth to beware of Satan’s schemes because Satan wants us to believe that deception doesn’t come in attractive ways. If deception was so obvious, who’d gladly and willingly invite deception into their lives? Satan attempts to lure us away from God and the path God desires for us by suggesting substitute remedies for our problems or by making us feel that it’s not really that wrong. How might Satan present deception as attractive in your life? Paul taught the Corinthians to always check if their beliefs and actions are in line with what Paul is teaching them. Today we are blessed to have the written Word of God as our check to make sure we are in line with God. Pray against Satan’s masquerades and do a check on your life and ask God to reveal ways that Satan might be deceiving you.
