History
Faith Church was founded and established in June 1963 in South Holland, Illinois. It was the third Reformed Church in South Holland with the first pastor being Rev. Herman R. Rosenberg. After two more senior pastors, Pastor Robert Bouwer came to Faith Church in 1990. He became senior pastor in 1992.
After growing to capacity, Faith Church relocated to Dyer, Indiana. The ground breaking took place on June 2, 2002. On July 5 and 6, 2003, the first services at the Dyer campus took place. As Faith Church grows, building expansions and multi-sites continue to develop. We launched our first multi-site in September 2007 in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Our second multi-site launched in the spring of 2009 in Valparaiso, Indiana, and two years later on Easter 2011, we launched our third campus in Hammond, Indiana. Most recently in September 2012, Faith Church crossed over the state line to launch our fourth campus in Beecher, Illinois. God continues to expand our family as we strive to reach the disconnected and grow the connected.
Faith Church has embraced the concept of “one church – many locations.” We feel that we have been called to meet people closer to where they live and to branch out with many campus locations all sharing the same message and style. The RCA (Reformed Church in America) has challenged us to have 11 multi-site locations by the year 2020 and has agreed to financially help us in that endeavor.
We are continuing to look at different ways to continue to grow and expand God’s kingdom. Faith Church remains committed to its original vision, to be a safe place for people to come and develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to be a healthy place for Christians to grow in their spiritual journey. We believe that God is able to do more than we can ask or dream…so the future looks exciting from here!
