One time years ago, having worked for a long period of time, I was ready to take a vacation. o help meet expenses, I was counting on a timely state tax refund. However, this type of refund had to be processed by the end of the month or it could not be claimed. And that presented a problem because somehow I lost the paperwork (this was before the age of the internet). Try as I might I could not find it. I finally gave up and prayed to the Lord that, if by some miracle the application form showed up and I sent it off in time, that I would give the money away (as far as I was concerned it was gone anyway). Well, very soon after I prayed that, I happened to answer a phone that was away from my desk and, looking down, I found the missing application form! I somehow must have left it there previously and forgotten about it. In any case, I quickly applied for my refund even though the month was nearly over. I mailed the compl eted form to the state capital on a Thursday, and to my utter surprise, received the full refund in the mail the following Tuesday! I was amazed - despite time in transit through the mail both going and coming as well as processeing through state government and over a weekend, I had the refund in hand in only five days! Well, I knew what I had to do. Despite the need, I immediately gave it all away to a Christian charity. Soon thereafter I was ready to start my vacation. My boss asked me to see him in his office, wished me a safe trip, and (not knowing about the refund) gave me bonus vacation money four time the amount I'd given away! This showed me that God really is in control and blesses those who honor Him.
