November Virtue: Gratitude

 

 

PURPOSE: We want to intentionally communicate with parents about what we are teaching in Treasureland every month.  Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) says, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."  Powerful wisdom from Proverbs!  We value you as parents and honor your role as the spiritual leaders in the home!  We look forward to serving in our role as partners along the way.

Worshipping With an End in Mind

1)  We believe children are worshipping God with the same intensity, probably even a bit more than adults, in Treasureland as adults are at Faith Church.  

2)  We believe the Bible clearly puts the spiritual development of children first and foremost on parents (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). 

3)  From birth through 5th grade, we value the partnership we have with families to reinforce the spiritual leadership of parents. 

 

As partners we want to be clear about what we teach in Treasureland, so that you can use them as tools to build faith at home with your children.  My daughter frequently asks me, "Dad, are you making the wise choice?"  I laugh, but it also gives me one more opportunity to talk about how God fits into every aspect of our family and our lives!
